Calgi-D 500 mg+200 IU is indicated for:

• Treatment of osteoporosis, rickets, osteomalacia, tetany, and hypoparathyroidism.
• Supplementation during pregnancy and lactation to meet increased nutritional demands.
• Supportive therapy in conditions such as kidney disease and pancreatitis.
• Use during treatment with anticonvulsant (anti-seizure) medications.
• Prevention and management of calcium and vitamin D3 deficiency.

Calcium (derived from algae) is an essential mineral required for maintaining strong bones and overall structural integrity of the body. It plays a crucial role in bone formation and is effective in the prevention and management of osteoporosis and related fractures. Vitamin D3 enhances intestinal absorption of calcium and supports bone mineralization. It also promotes new bone formation. Clinical studies indicate that the combination of calcium and vitamin D3 has a synergistic effect, improving bone density and reducing the risk of osteoporosis and fractures.

Usual adult dose: 1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet at night. Tablet should be taken orally.

• Hypocalcemia
• Hypercalciuria
• Metastatic calcification
• Known hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation

Common side effects may include irregular heartbeat, nausea, dry mouth, weakness, headache, metallic taste, muscle or bone pain, and drowsiness. Rare effects include hypercalcemia, constipation, diarrhea, and loss of appetite.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, calcium and vitamin D3 should be used based on a careful assessment of the risk-benefit ratio.

Use with caution in patients with renal impairment, sarcoidosis, hypercalcemia, or hypercalciuria.

Not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

High doses may cause nausea, vomiting, dizziness, loss of appetite, abdominal cramps, headache, and constipation. Management includes discontinuation of therapy and adequate hydration.
