Tablet Cebeta Tablet

Unit Price:
৳ 2.50 (1 x 30: ৳ 75.00)
Indications

This combination contains antioxidant vitamins—Cebeta-carotene (pro-vitamin A), Vitamin C, and Vitamin E—which are associated with reduced risk of cardiovascular diseases and cataract formation.

Vitamin E helps reduce oxidative damage to blood lipoproteins, thereby lowering the risk of atherosclerosis. It also supports immune function and may help delay age-related decline in immunity and degenerative changes.

Vitamin C plays an important role in enhancing immune defense, reducing inflammation, and protecting cells from oxidative stress. It also improves iron absorption and supports the body’s response to stress.

Together, these antioxidants help protect cells from free radical damage and support overall health.

Pharmacology

Beta-carotene is converted into vitamin A (retinol) in the body as needed. Retinol plays important roles in vision, growth, tissue differentiation, and immune function, and may also have anti-cancer properties.

Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant and an essential cofactor in various biological processes. It is required for collagen formation, neurotransmitter synthesis, and adrenal hormone production. It also enhances immune cell function and protects against oxidative damage. In higher doses, it increases iron absorption.

Vitamin E acts as a major antioxidant in cell membranes by preventing lipid peroxidation. It neutralizes free radicals and protects cell structures from oxidative stress. Its antioxidant action is supported by Vitamin C and glutathione, which help regenerate its active form.

Dosage Administration

This tablet is administered orally. The adult dose of this combination of antioxidant vitamin tablet is 1 tablet daily or as prescribed by the physician.

Contraindications

Although beta-carotene is converted to vitamin A only as required, excessive vitamin A intake should be avoided during pregnancy due to potential teratogenic effects.

This preparation should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to retinol. High doses of vitamin C are contraindicated in patients with hyperoxaluria and may increase the risk of fetal complications if taken in excessive amounts during pregnancy. Vitamin E has no absolute contraindications at recommended doses.

Side Effects

Beta-carotene may occasionally cause loose stools and a mild yellow discoloration of the skin. Excessive intake leading to vitamin A toxicity may result in skin peeling, redness, altered hair growth, loss of appetite, and nausea.

Vitamin C is generally well tolerated, but high doses may cause diarrhea, gastrointestinal discomfort, hyperoxaluria, and kidney stone formation.

Vitamin E is also usually well tolerated; however, large doses may lead to gastrointestinal disturbances, abdominal pain, fatigue, and weakness.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Vitamin A (retinol): High doses should be avoided during pregnancy and lactation.

Vitamin C: Safe in normal doses during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but excessive intake (≥5 g/day) may be harmful.

Vitamin E: Safe at recommended doses; safety of high doses is not established. Breastfeeding is generally considered safe at normal doses.

Precautions & Warnings

Beta-carotene should be used cautiously in heavy smokers and alcohol users. Vitamin C should be used carefully in patients with hyperoxaluria. Vitamin E should be used with caution in patients taking anticoagulants, as it may enhance their effect.

Therapeutic Class
