Indications
  • For prevention of dehydration and management of diarrhea.
  • In all types of dehydration.
Composition

Each 10 g sachet contains:

  • Dried Sucrose: 6.35 g
  • Glucose Anhydrous: 0.5 g
  • Sodium Chloride: 1.5 g
  • Citric Acid Anhydrous: 0.587 g
  • Potassium Chloride: 0.587 g
  • Trisodium Citrate Dihydrate: 0.146 g
  • Flavour: q.s.
Dosage Administration

The amount of water removed from the body, an equivalent quantity of mixture should be given. After each loose motion.

  • Children below 2 years: 50-100 ml (10-20 teaspoonfuls) prepared saline.
  • Children between 2-10 years: 100-200 ml (20-40 teaspoonful) prepared saline.
  • Children above 10 years and adults: 200-400 ml (1-2 glasses) of prepared saline.
Precautions & Warnings

ORS should not be mixed with hot water, and the solution should not be heated. The prepared solution must be discarded after 12 hours.
