Isopropyl alcohol hand rub is indicated for the disinfection of clean and intact skin. For pre-operative surgical hand disinfection, hand disinfection on the ward prior to aseptic procedures or after handling contaminated materials. For disinfection of the patient's skin prior to surgery or other invasive procedures.

Isopropyl alcohol is an isomer of propyl alcohol with antibacterial properties. Although the exact mechanism of isopropanol's disinfecting action is not known, it might kill cells by denaturing cell proteins and DNA, interfering with cellular metabolism, and dissolving cell lipo-protein membranes. Isopropanol is used in soaps and lotions as an antiseptic. 70% isopropyl alcohol solution kills microorganisms by dissolving the plasma membrane of the cell wall.

Squeeze thumbnail size amount in your palm then briskly rub hands together until dry. Use as often as required.
