This preparation is indicated for:

• Increased requirements of Calcium and Vitamin C, such as during pregnancy, lactation, periods of rapid growth (childhood and adolescence), and in older age
• During infectious diseases and recovery (convalescence)
• Treatment of calcium and Vitamin C deficiency
• Osteoporosis
• Premenstrual syndrome
• Postmenopausal conditions
• As supportive therapy in common cold and influenza

Calcium is primarily used to correct and prevent deficiency and is essential for numerous physiological functions in the body. Even short-term deficiency can disrupt normal biochemical processes. Vitamin C is an essential dietary nutrient that the human body cannot synthesize. It acts as a strong antioxidant and plays a vital role in the body’s response to stress and immune defense against infections.

Children 3 to 7 years: ½ effervescent tablet daily.
Adults & children above 7 years: 1 effervescent tablet daily.
Dissolve 1 tablet in a glass of water before consumption.

Potentially hazardous interactions:

• Digoxin, tetracycline, furosemide, pentagastrin
• Aminophylline, bleomycin, erythromycin, lactobionate, nafcillin, nitrofurantoin, conjugated estrogens, sulfafurazole, diethanolamine, chloramphenicol

Potentially beneficial interactions:

• Vitamin D, oxytocin, and prostaglandins
• Vitamin C enhances iron absorption

This preparation is contraindicated in patients with hypercalcemia (e.g., due to hyperparathyroidism, vitamin D overdose, or decalcifying tumors such as plasmacytoma and bone metastases), severe hypercalciuria, and severe renal failure.

It should also be avoided in patients with hyperoxaluria, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, or iron overload. High doses may cause gastrointestinal disturbances.

In rare cases, mild gastrointestinal disturbances such as bloating and diarrhea may occur. In susceptible individuals, prolonged use of high doses may increase the risk of urinary tract stone formation.

Epidemiological data suggest that oral calcium supplementation does not increase the risk of teratogenic effects. Although calcium may pass into breast milk, the levels are unlikely to cause harm to the infant. Vitamin C can be safely used during pregnancy and lactation.

Patients with mild hypercalciuria (exceeding 300 mg or 7.5 mmol/24 hours), mild to moderate renal impairment, or a history of urinary stones should be monitored for urinary calcium excretion. Dose adjustment or discontinuation may be necessary if required. High doses of vitamin D and its derivatives should be avoided unless specifically indicated.

Citrate salts may increase aluminum absorption; therefore, caution is advised in patients with severe renal impairment, especially those receiving aluminum-containing medications. The sugar content should also be considered in diabetic patients.

No cases of acute overdose have been reported. Overdose is likely to cause gastrointestinal disturbances but is not expected to result in hypercalcemia, except in patients receiving high doses of vitamin D and its derivatives.
