This effervescent tablet is indicated for:

• Prevention and treatment of calcium and Vitamin D deficiency
• As a supplement of calcium and Vitamin D alongside specific therapy for the prevention and management of osteoporosis, particularly in patients at risk of deficiency

Each effervescent tablet contains:

• Calcium Lactate Gluconate 1358.196 mg
• Calcium Carbonate BP 1050 mg (equivalent to 600 mg elemental Calcium)
• Vitamin D 400 IU (as Cholecalciferol BP)

Adequate calcium levels are essential for numerous physiological processes, and even short-term deficiency can disrupt normal body functions. Clinical evidence supports the use of calcium in preventing and treating osteoporosis and related fractures. Vitamin D plays a crucial role in maintaining bone health by enhancing calcium absorption from the gastrointestinal tract and promoting bone formation. Together, calcium and Vitamin D act synergistically to improve bone growth, strengthen bones, and reduce the risk of osteoporosis and fractures.

1-2 tablets per day, preferably one tablet each morning and evening or as directed by the physician. Pour a tablet in a glass of water. The tablet will be dissolved within 1-2 minutes in the water. Drink the solution immediately.

This preparation may interact with digoxin, antacids containing calcium, aluminum or magnesium, other calcium supplements, calcitriol, and antibiotics such as tetracycline, doxycycline, aminocycline, or oxytetracycline. Medical advice should be sought when using this supplement alongside any of these medications.

This medication is contraindicated in:

• Hypercalcemia and hyperparathyroidism
• Hypercalciuria and nephrolithiasis
• Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation
• Severe renal insufficiency

Oral calcium carbonate may cause gastrointestinal irritation and constipation. Hypercalcemia is uncommon with calcium alone but may occur with high doses, particularly in patients with chronic renal failure. Other possible effects include allergic reactions, irregular heartbeat, nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, dry mouth, drowsiness, and skin rash.

This effervescent tablet may be used during pregnancy in cases of calcium and Vitamin D deficiency. However, when supplementation is initiated in the third trimester, daily intake should not exceed 1500 mg of calcium and 1000 IU of Vitamin D. This preparation can also be used during breastfeeding.

Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, severe drowsiness, dry mouth, loss of appetite, metallic taste, abdominal cramps, unconsciousness, diarrhea, weakness, headache, constipation, dizziness, or irritability. Severe overdose may result in hypercalcemia due to Vitamin D toxicity.
