Provides relief from dry skin associated with conditions such as contact dermatitis, senile pruritus, atopic dermatitis, ichthyosis, and other related dry skin disorders. It soothes and moisturizes the skin effectively. It also acts as a mild cleanser for dry and sensitive skin, helping to reduce dryness and leaving the skin soft and smooth.

Scar treatment creams generally work by reducing tension on the scar through:

• moisturizing and softening the outer layer of the skin
• forming a protective barrier that helps retain moisture
• supporting cellular regeneration and remodeling of connective tissue beneath the scar

Some formulations may also help protect the sensitive scar area from photodamage. The effectiveness depends on the active ingredients present in the topical preparation.

Mederma Cream should be evenly applied and gently rubbed into the scar 3 times daily for 8 weeks on new scars, and 3 times daily for 3-6 months on existing scars. Also apply Mederma Cream to the scar before sun exposure. Children under 6 months of age: ask a doctor.

No known or well-documented drug interactions have been reported.

Not recommended for patients with known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation. It should also be avoided in individuals with acne or excessively oily skin.

Skin irritation may occur in individuals who are sensitive to any of the ingredients.

Pregnancy Category C. Animal studies have shown potential risk to the fetus, and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans. However, use during pregnancy may be considered if the expected benefits outweigh the possible risks.
