Each 5 gm sachet contains:
This is an antacid preparation that provides rapid relief from heartburn, indigestion, hyperacidity, and flatulence.
Since the components act locally in the stomach and are fully dissolved, systemic absorption and pharmacokinetic behavior are not significant considerations. Residual sodium and citrate ions are safely absorbed and eliminated through normal metabolic pathways. When dissolved in water, the ingredients react to form sodium citrate, which provides buffering (antacid) action, and carbon dioxide gas, which helps relieve gas through eructation (belching). A small amount of sodium bicarbonate remains, contributing additional acid-neutralizing effect.
Adults and children aged 12 years and over: 5 gm (one 5 ml spoonful of powder) or one sachet dissolved in a glass of water. Drink as symptoms occur.
A second dose may be taken after 2-3 hours.
Minimum dosing interval: 2 hours.
Maximum daily dose (MDD): 2 X relevant dosage (5 g).
Maximum duration of antacid use at MDD: 14 days.
Children under 12 years: Do not use.
The elderly can take the adult dose.
The acid-neutralizing effect of this product may alter the absorption pattern of pH-dependent medicines taken at the same time.
