Arq Nankha is indicated in indigestion, neurogenic abdominal pain, abdominal bloating, and digestive weakness.

Each 5 mL of Piper syrup contains extracts of the following main herbs and other excipients prepared according to Bangladesh National Unani Formula:

• Nankha – 305 mg
• Kholongjan – 175 mg
• Zaranob – 175 mg
• Zarambad – 175 mg
• Gulab – 1.5 mL

Arq Nankha is a liquid herbal preparation made from extracts of various medicinal plants, intended for oral use in both male and female patients.

The volatile oils, non-volatile oils, and resins present in Arq Nankha stimulate gastric enzymes through chemical action, thereby strengthening gastric function.

Nankha (chemical constituents: volatile oil, protein, fat, non-volatile oil): It acts as a carminative, antimicrobial, and gastric tonic.

Kholongjan (chemical constituents: volatile oil, resin, flavonoids, tannins, kaempferol): It is digestive, carminative, antifungal, and antimicrobial.

Zaranob: It acts as a digestive, astringent, and gastric tonic.

Zarambad (chemical constituents: volatile oil, tannins, resin, curcumin, arabinous compounds): It is digestive, carminative, and gastric strengthening agent.

Gulab (chemical constituents: volatile oil, kaempferol, fixed oil, tannins, and organic acids): It acts as astringent, mild laxative, and gastric tonic.

Adult: 2–4 teaspoonfuls of medicine with an equal amount of water, 2–3 times daily after meals.
Children: 0.5–2 teaspoonfuls of medicine with an equal amount of water or fruit juice, 2–3 times daily after meals or as directed by the physician.

There are no significant contraindications reported.

No side effects have been observed so far.

In cases of dysentery and ulcer, it should be taken under the advice of a physician.
