Description

Bacopa monnieri (Brahmi) is a traditional Ayurvedic herb used for centuries as a brain tonic. It grows as a creeping plant in wet soil and is widely recognized for its role in supporting cognitive function.

Its active constituents include alkaloids, saponins, sterols, and bacosides (A & B), which are considered responsible for its neurocognitive effects.

Composition

Each 5 ml of syrup contains extracts of Bacopa monnieri (1.21 g), Asparagus racemosus (0.30 g), Ipomoea paniculata (0.30 g), Terminalia chebula (0.30 g), Vetiveria zizanioides (0.30 g), Zingiber officinale (0.30 g), and Foeniculum vulgare (0.30 g).

Pharmacology

Bacosides in Bacopa are associated with improved neuronal communication and support for synaptic function. They may contribute to neural repair mechanisms and antioxidant activity in brain regions such as the hippocampus and cortex.

Asparagus racemosus is traditionally used as a nervine tonic and is believed to support neural protection through antioxidant activity and reduction of oxidative stress.
