Tolperisone Hydrochloride is indicated for:

• Management of increased skeletal muscle tone due to organic neurological disorders such as pyramidal tract injury, multiple sclerosis, myelopathy, and encephalomyelitis
• Treatment of muscle spasm, muscle contracture, rigidity, and spinal automatism
• Treatment of certain vascular disorders including obliterative arteriosclerosis, diabetic angiopathy, thromboangiitis obliterans, Raynaud’s disease, and diffuse scleroderma
• In selected cases, post-thrombotic venous and lymphatic circulation disorders and leg ulcers

Tolperisone Hydrochloride is a centrally acting muscle relaxant that works on the central nervous system. It is primarily used to reduce increased muscle tone and tension and may also improve blood circulation in the extremities.

The recommended dose is as follows:

• Adult: 50–150 mg three times daily according to the individual requirement and tolerance of the patient.
• Children (from 3 months to 6 years): 5 mg/kg/day in three divided doses.
• Children (from 6 to 14 years): 2–4 mg/kg/day in three divided doses. or, as directed by the registered physician.

Concurrent use of methocarbamol with Tolperisone Hydrochloride may lead to disturbances in visual accommodation.

Tolperisone Hydrochloride is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of its components, in patients with myasthenia gravis, and in breastfeeding mothers.

Possible side effects include muscle weakness, headache, nausea, and vomiting. Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions such as itching, skin redness, or rash may occur.

Tolperisone Hydrochloride should be used during pregnancy only under medical supervision. It is not recommended during breastfeeding.
