Mebhydrolin Napadisylate is used to relieve symptoms of allergic conditions, including:
Mebhydrolin works by blocking histamine receptors, thereby reducing or eliminating the effects of histamine in the body.
Adults and children over 10 years: 2-6 tablets daily
Children-
Treatment should be given in several single doses daily. Mebhydrolin may be swallowed during or shortly after meals. For children, the tablet may be crushed and mixed with food
Mebhydrolin may increase the effects of atropine and tricyclic antidepressants. It can also mask early warning signs of damage caused by ototoxic drugs.
Contraindications include hypersensitivity to any component of the Mebhydrolin tablet or to mebhydrolin itself, prostatic hypertrophy, narrow-angle glaucoma, and use during the first trimester of pregnancy.
Adverse effects may include fatigue, dizziness, low blood pressure, muscle weakness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation, epigastric pain, headache, blurred vision, tinnitus, depression, nightmares, loss of appetite, dry mouth, chest tightness, tingling sensations, sedation, and drowsiness.
The safety of this medicine during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been established.
This medicine may cause drowsiness. If affected, avoid driving, operating machinery, and consuming alcohol.
