Aluminium Chloride Hexahydrate topical solution is indicated for the management of hyperhidrosis affecting the underarms (axillae), palms, and soles.
Aluminium Chloride Hexahydrate
Generic MedicinePharmacology
Aluminium Chloride Hexahydrate exerts its effect locally within the stratum corneum and the terminal portion of the sweat ducts to control excessive sweating. Aluminium salts lead to blockage of the sweat gland ducts at the skin surface. It is believed that aluminium ions interact with mucopolysaccharides, resulting in damage to epithelial cells lining the duct and forming a gel-like plug that obstructs sweat secretion.
Dosage Administration
This topical solution is for application to the axillae, palms of the hands or soles of the feet. Before applying Aluminium Chloride Hexahydrate, the affected area should be dried thoroughly to avoid burning of the skin. Apply this topical solution at night after drying the affected areas carefully. Wash off in the morning. Do not re-apply the product during the day. Initially the product may be applied each night until sweating stops during the day. The frequency of application may then be reduced to twice a week or less.
