This medicine is indicated for the quick relief of pain, swelling, and inflammation caused by musculoskeletal disorders. It is used in conditions such as sprains, strains, tendinitis, bursitis, pain in the hands, neck and shoulder pain, sciatica, muscle stiffness, joint pain, backache, and lumbago.

Diclofenac diethylamine is absorbed systemically through the skin and works by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX), which reduces the formation of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). It also increases the uptake of arachidonic acid into the cellular pool. Menthol acts as a vasodilator, widening blood vessels and producing a cooling sensation along with mild pain relief (analgesia). Methyl salicylate is an anti-inflammatory agent that helps reduce pain and inflammation.
Dosage Administration
Approximately one-inch band of gel should be applied to the affected site three to four times daily with rubbing till the film disappears. Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established.
Contraindications
This medicine is contraindicated in patients who have known hypersensitivity or allergy to any of the ingredients in the preparation.
Side Effects
This medicine is usually well tolerated. Hypersensitivity reactions occur very rarely and have an extremely low frequency.
Pregnancy & Lactation
The safety of this gel during pregnancy has not been established. There are no well-controlled studies of diclofenac use in pregnant women. Therefore, it should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed and under medical supervision.
Precautions & Warnings
This medicine is for external use only and should not be ingested. Avoid contact with the eyes. Treatment should be stopped and medical advice sought if the condition worsens or does not improve within 7 days. It must be kept out of the reach of children. If accidentally swallowed, immediate medical help should be obtained or a poison control center should be contacted right away.
