This combination ointment is used for the treatment of diaper dermatitis associated with fungal infection.

Each gram of ointment contains:

• Miconazole Nitrate BP 2.5 mg
• Zinc Oxide USP 150 mg
• White Soft Paraffin BP 813.5 mg

Miconazole is a broad-spectrum antimycotic with strong antifungal activity against dermatophytes, yeasts, and other related fungi, along with antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacilli and cocci. It is particularly effective in secondary infected mycoses. Zinc Oxide and White Soft Paraffin act as emollients by forming a protective layer on the skin, reducing transepidermal water loss and helping to maintain normal skin moisture.

Before applying Ointment, gently cleanse the skin with lukewarm water and pat dry with a soft towel. Avoid using any scented soaps, shampoos, or lotions on the diaper area. Should be applied to the affected area at each diaper change for 7 days.

This ointment is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any of its components. Discontinue use if any sensitivity reaction occurs.

Generally well tolerated and does not show significant side effects. Occasionally, mild skin irritation may occur.

There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Pregnant women should take proper precautions when using this product. Safety and efficacy have not been established in nursing mothers, and it is not known whether the active components are excreted in breast milk. Nursing mothers should also use with caution.
