Indications

Vidalin A IV is intended as a supplement for intravenous nutrition to meet the daily requirements of water-soluble vitamins and amino acids. It is used in patients requiring parenteral nutrition, malnutrition, post-operative recovery, severe illness, trauma, and conditions where oral intake is inadequate.

Each combipack contains:

  • 1 vial of water-soluble multivitamin powder for infusion
  • 1 bottle of 250 ml amino acid solution
  • 1 disposable syringe (10 ml)
  • 1 infusion set
  • 1 hanger
  • 1 first aid bandage
  • 1 alcohol pad
Description

Vidalin A IV is a sterile, lyophilized water-soluble multivitamin powder for infusion. It provides essential coenzymes required for energy metabolism, cellular growth, and nervous system function. Vitamin C acts as an antioxidant and supports collagen formation. Intravenous administration ensures rapid therapeutic effect.

Composition

Each vial contains (active ingredients):

  • Vitamin B1 (Thiamine Nitrate) 2.5 mg,
  • Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin Sodium Phosphate) 3.6 mg,
  • Nicotinamide 40 mg,
  • Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine HCl) 4 mg,
  • Dexpanthenol 15 mg,
  • Ascorbic Acid (Sodium Ascorbate) 100 mg,
  • Biotin 0.06 mg,
  • Folic Acid 0.4 mg,
  • Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin) 0.005 mg.

250 ml bottle (per 100 ml contains): Essential amino acids:

  • L-Isoleucine,
  • L-Leucine,
  • L-Lysine HCl,
  • L-Methionine,
  • L-Phenylalanine,
  • L-Threonine,
  • L-Tryptophan,
  • L-Valine,
  • L-Histidine,
  • L-Tyrosine.

Non-essential amino acids:

  • L-Arginine,
  • L-Aspartic Acid,
  • L-Glutamic Acid,
  • L-Alanine,
  • L-Cystine,
  • Glycine,
  • L-Proline,
  • L-Serine.

Carbohydrate:

  • D-Sorbitol

Electrolytes:

  • Sodium, Potassium,
  • Magnesium,
  • Chloride,
  • Acetate
Pharmacology

B-complex and Vitamin C play multiple roles in the human body including immune support, neuronal function, eye health, digestion, wound healing, red blood cell production, and metabolic processes. They are also essential during pregnancy and periods of increased physiological demand.

Dosage Administration

Adults and children weighing 10 kg or more: 1 vial (10 ml) daily.
Children weighing less than 10 kg: should be given 1 ml of the dissolved mixture per kg body weight/day.

Instructions for Use:

  • Take 10 ml solution from 250 ml glass bottle by syringe.
  • Open the cap of 10 ml vial and inject the syringe containing 10 ml solution into the vial. It will make a yellow colored solution inside the vial.
  • Take the solution from vial into syringe
  • Inject the syringe containing solution into the 250 ml glass bottle
  • Now inject the solution into patient’s body through slow IV infusion, at rates 20 drops/ minute
Interactions

Vitamin B6 may reduce the effect of Levodopa. Folic Acid may decrease the serum concentration of Phenytoin.

Contraindications

Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component, such as Thiamine.

Side Effects

Allergic reactions may occur in hypersensitive patients to any ingredient, such as Thiamine.

Pregnancy & Lactation

USFDA Pregnancy Category A. Safe use of amino acid solutions during pregnancy has been reported in humans. No animal reproduction studies have been conducted with this product.

Precautions & Warnings

When the lyophilized powder for infusion is diluted with water-based solutions, the mixture should be protected from light. This is not necessary when diluted with intralipid due to the protective effect of fat emulsion.

Overdose Effects

No adverse effects have been reported with overdose of water-soluble multivitamins, except in cases of extremely high parenteral doses. The possibility of hypervitaminosis A and D should be considered if the product is combined with other multivitamin injections.

Storage Conditions

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children. Reconstituted Vidalin A IV should be added aseptically to the infusion solution immediately before infusion.
