Collagen Type II (native) is a structural protein found in cartilage, bones, and other connective tissues. It is composed of three amino acid chains—glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline—forming a triple-helix structure. Undenatured Type II chicken collagen is a nutritional supplement derived from chicken sternum cartilage using a low-temperature, non-enzymatic patented process that preserves its natural structure and biological activity. Boswellic acids are active constituents obtained from the gum resin of Boswellia serrata Roxb., containing β-boswellic acid, 11-keto-β-boswellic acid and their derivatives.

Type II collagen works through an immune-mediated mechanism known as oral tolerization. The active epitopes of undenatured collagen interact with Peyer’s patches in the small intestine, stimulating collagen-specific regulatory T-cells. These cells migrate to joint tissues and help regulate immune activity by reducing T-cell mediated responses.

This process helps decrease the release of collagenase enzymes and inflammatory cytokines, thereby reducing cartilage breakdown, inflammation, and joint damage while supporting cartilage repair and regeneration. It improves joint flexibility, mobility, and may enhance knee extension and range of motion. Chicken collagen may also contain chondroitin and glucosamine, which support cartilage rebuilding. Boswellia serrata resin contains multiple triterpenic acids, including β-boswellic acid and 11-keto-β-boswellic acid, which help inhibit pro-inflammatory enzymes.
