Aspartame
Generic MedicinePharmacology
Aspartame is a low-calorie artificial sweetener widely used in reduced-calorie foods and beverages. It is composed of two amino acids, aspartic acid and phenylalanine, in the form of a methyl ester. These components are naturally present in protein-rich foods such as meat, grains, and dairy products. After ingestion, aspartame is broken down into aspartic acid, phenylalanine, and a small amount of methanol, which are absorbed and utilized through normal metabolic pathways. These components do not accumulate in the body and are processed similarly to those obtained from natural dietary sources.
Aspartame is approximately 180–200 times sweeter than sucrose, allowing it to provide sweetness with minimal caloric contribution. It is metabolized like a protein, and its amino acids are utilized in normal physiological processes.

According to individual taste. 1 pellet is equivalent in sweetness to 1 tsf of sugar.
